Early in the morning of January 2, I received a phone call informing me that my Grandma Christensen had passed away. Although Grandma had not been well for awhile, it did come as a bit of a shock to our family. Tori and I traveled with Dad and Mary to Idaho for the funeral. Grandma was one of my best friends, and she has taught me many things about life and the gospel of Jesus Christ. One of the things she has instilled in me is a love of family, and the love she had for all her family was an almost tangible part of her funeral services. Although funerals are always sad affairs, her funeral allowed me to remember some very personal and special experiences. I could even imagine Grandma smiling as she watched and listened to her friends and family enjoying each other and strengthening our bonds. I will miss Grandma, but her influence lives on in each person she touched during life.
It was during this trip that I was able to spend some time with family, and that is always a special treat.

Mom and Nick bonded over their cell phones.

Colton and Tori bonded over Barbies (Nick, Tori may have taught Colton about Barbies, but I'll have you know it was Colton who taught Tori about undressing them!)

Grandpa Lugo, Tori and Colton just plain bonded!
