Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

What happened to December? So much has happened in Tori's life. She went to Nursery for the first time at the beginning of December. She was a little unsure of it at first, but loved her new teachers and friends. All in all, Mom is happy to report that she survived Tori's first day of nursery quite well.

Tori is learning new words everyday (i.e. "No", "Tori", "No", "Bath", "No", "Mouth" "No", "No", "No", "No"... ... ... ).

Tori loved Christmas at Grandpa and Grandma Lugo's house. She especially had fun playing with her cousin Colton. Colton could certainly win a prize for best cousin, as seen on this video:

Tori got to go sledding for the first time during Christmas. She wasn't overly excited about it, but she did get to feed some horses in the back pasture. This video is of Tori's first sled ride:

Tori loved talking to Papa and Nana Treasure on the phone. Papa read "The Night Before Christmas" to Tori over the phone. Tori was a little more animated than last year, but she still heard the important parts and loves this tradition. After Christmas, Tori called Papa and Nana to ask how their Christmas went. Here is a part of that conversation:

We came back home for our New Year celebration. Part of the German tradition we brought with us is to eat sauerkraut and pork chops on New Year's day. German's say if you do this, you will have enough money all year (even I can handle sauerkraut once a year if it means I'll have enough money all year!!). Well, since Tori is half German, we decided she better get a start on this tradition, too. Here is her first attempt at sauerkraut:

And with that, we wish you a Happy New Year!!
